Currently, there is a Minbar made with pre-Islamic Khatamkari in the Aqiq Jameh Mosque of Shiraz.
The techniques are broadly comparable to the Western and Byzantine traditions of miniatures in illuminated manuscripts.
With their special tools, they cut each piece of wood and metal to a diameter of 1 to 5.2 mm and a length of 30 cm. After this action, they become triangles that are shaped into the desired shape with a file.
According to the dimensions, design, color and shape of the part used, the seals are placed on the work surface with a special adhesive. Then, creating different designs, the entire work surface is decorated with inlays.
